Neon Green Palua Nepthea
The Neon Green Palau Nephthea is highly sought after for its brilliant, neon green coloration, as well as its lineage. This hardy and colorful coral was originally from the waters of Palau in the Pacific Ocean. The broodstock, or mother colony, was obtained in 2008 as a third generation frag from the original mother colony. The small colony was quarantined and given a health inspection, then moved to our broodstock raceway. Once settled in we began to propagate this coral, and now have sufficient numbers to offer them for sale.
The Neon Green Palau Nephthea will make a noteworthy addition sure to fill empty sections of your reef aquarium with exciting color and movement. As an added advantage, the Neon Green Tree Coral is aquacultured at our state-of-the-art facility to better ensure transport and acclimation to conventional home marine water parameters.
This soft coral is peaceful but still needs ample space between itself and others in the reef aquarium. The Neon Green Palau Nephthea is easy to maintain in the reef aquarium and will require moderate lighting conditions combined with medium to strong water movement. For continued good health, the Neon Green Tree Coral will also require the addition of iodine, strontium, and other trace elements to the water.
The symbiotic algae zooxanthellae hosted within its body provide some of the nutritional needs via the light driven process of photosynthesis. The Neon Green Palau Nephthea will also require feedings of food such as micro-plankton, baby brine shrimp, or foods designed for filter feeding invertebrates. These should be regularly blown across the polyps.
The Neon Green Palau Nephthea mounted on a porous block that can be cut down with a pair of sturdy scissors and be placed easily and securely in or between the rockwork in your reef aquarium.
